History

Revolution British Wrestling was formed in 2002 by Aaron Spencer and Adam Mumford.

The purpose of RBW was to put on quality wrestling events, focusing on the British style of wrestling, rather than imitating the US television style.

Months of preparation led upto the first show, which took place in Bishop's Stortford during August, which was followed two weeks later with a show in Nottingham. Following these first two events, RBW formed a working relationship with a fellow UK wrestling company, G.N Promotions, which would see joint events being put on.

In 2003, live events took place in the Midlands and the northern part of England. These shows saw first appearances of some top UK names such as Johnny Kidd and James Mason, along with a new generation of professional wrestlers that would go on to make names for themselves including Spud, 'The Gift' Ross Jordan, Sammy Ray, Stixx, J.C Thunder and many others. Also, WWF legend Jake 'The Snake' Roberts put in an appearance early in the year.

The year 2003 also saw the opening of two weekly training classes in London and Nottingham, which go on to produce various wrestlers that would appear later on RBW events.

By the time 2004 came, RBW saw its busiest schedule yet. An expansion into the South of England, saw monthly events take place in Enfield, along with shows in London and Hertfordshire. The action was not just down south either, RBW became the first promotion in a long time to use the famous Civic Hall in Wolverhampton and took part in a five-day event at the annual 'Yorkfest' event in York.

During July, RBW announced the end of its working relationship with G.N Promotions. This gave RBW the opportunity to focus on events held in the Southern part of England, as Aaron Spencer had left the wrestling business earlier in the year.

Following this, RBW events saw an increase in production values at shows and a new ring. Several new wrestlers made their debut by the end of 2004, including the likes of 'Anarcist' Doug Williams and various others.

In what was to be RBW's last year in operation, 2005, the year kicked off with a big show in Peterborough, with later shows in Devon and Hampshire, whilst regular events continued in London.

Classic contests held between the likes of Johnny Kidd, Robbie Brookside and Steve Grey stand out, but also some great performances from the rest of the RBW roster, including some graduate trainees such as Project Future, ensured that these shows were the best yet.

Later in the year, Adam Mumford, one of RBW's original founders, decided to leave the wrestling business. However. the RBW company was to be continued by another party, but sadly after two more events, the company closed its doors for the final time.
